Mooneye’s Rescue was request by the Rincon State Police. Officer Ramos had seen Mooneye tied on the side of the road in Rincon Puerto Rico. Officer Ramos knew by the look of Mooneye’s back right leg he was likely suffering and possibly needing to be put down. Our Defensa Hope4Horses Program collected Mooneye and brought him to our small Rincon Horse Sanctuary where he could rest until the next day when Vet Dra. Cristina could assess his leg. It was good news when Dra. Cristina diagnosed Mooneye with a dropped/injured tendon that could be treated with bute and corrective trims. She also recommended teeth floating, a good diet and castration. Today Mooneye is living on our large Aibonito Sister Animal Sanctuary. Please consider a donation for the care that was given Mooneye. We can not continue to rescue the horses in need in Puerto Rico without your support.
